Just like “Weekend at Burnie’s”, you can wake up and cut this album on and get ready for the grind. Thing is, most of the tracks I vibe with better when played at night. A Summer night that is. Hands down, Dom makes some of the best music for the Summer. If not then THEE best. “When I Come Around”, “Ice Cream Truck”, “2mph”, and “Graduate”; it all straight backyard party music when the sun is down. At first the album didn’t stick to me. Some of the beats felt over produced and the lyrics seem a bit lazy to me, with the exception of “Platinum Chanel”. Lyrically, Dom shined on “The Original Dom Kennedy” which also came out in 2011. I think that’s a better project than this, but We$tiide had more replay from me. I definitely can’t stop playing “Dom’s Prayer”, a very mature song in all aspects. (Taken with instagram)
